Overview:
Amirah started her career as an academician in the School of Mathematical Sciences in April 2015. She obtained her BSc and MSc in the area of Mathematics from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, Skudai, Johor. Then she continued her PhD at the University of Wollongong, Australia and graduated in 2014 in the area of Applied Mathematics.
Her research interest revolves around the area of linear and nonlinear waves, optical solitary waves and differential equations. In recent years, she is teaching Differential Equation 1 as her core subject and Introduction to Mathematical Modeling in alternate semester.

DIFFERENTIAL EQUATION 1 |
This course begins with introducing some definitions and terminologies that will be widely used throughout. First-order and higher-order differential equations, along with the methods of solutions and their applications are introduced in mathematical modeling forms. Modeling with higher-order, Laplace transform, and systems of linear first-order differential equations will also be covered. Students will also learn series solutions of linear equations and numerical methods in solving differential equations. |

INTRODUCTION TO MODELLING |
The Introduction to Modelling course is designed to provide students with a core and implementable knowledge of how mathematics can be used at the interdisciplinary interface. Students are expected to understand the core principles of mathematical modelling and at the end of the course, they are willing to model the observable world in terms of a mathematical language.
