3-Point Implicit Block Method for Solving Ordinary Differential
Equations
Zanariah Abdul Majid, Mohamed Bin Suleiman and Zurni Omar
Abstract.
A 3-point implicit block method for solving system of first
order ordinary differential equations (ODEs) is proposed. This method
approximates the solutions of initial value problems at 3 points
simultaneously using variable step size. The stability of the method is
also studied. The numerical results show that the method is more
efficient than the 3-point implicit block method developed by Rosser [4]
in terms of the total number of steps and execution times.
