11th National Mathematics Competition
Participate in 11th National Mathematics Competition which is organized by Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman Mathematics Society!
The main objective of National Mathematics Competition is to cultivate interest in mathematics among high school, pre-university, and undergraduate students. Besides, this competition offers a networking opportunity for all undergraduate students and thus fosters friendly relationship among undergraduate students from different universities.
Below are the details of the event:
Name of event : 11th National Mathematics Competition
Date : 18 June 2016
Time : 9:00 am – 4:00 pm (Registration starts at 8:00 am)
Venue : KB Block, Sungai Long Campus, Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman
The competition has been divided into three categories:
- Category A – Theory of Everything
- Consists of twenty (20) multiple choice questions which include mathematical questions of all aspects.
- The total competition time for this category is sixty (60) minutes.
- Registration fees: RM 20.00 per person.
- Category B – The Running Maths
- Consists of one hundred (100) arithmetic questions consisting of simple mathematical operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division).
- The total competition time for this category is twenty (20) minutes.
- Registration fees: RM 20.00 per person.
- Category C – The Mathketeers
- Each team consists of three (3) members.
- Nine (9) subjective questions.
- The total competition time for this category is sixty (60) minutes.
- Registration fees: RM 40.00 per team
Besides that, an exhibition alongside the competition will be held to introduce different ways in which mathematics can be applied to solving problems in real life.
