Attention to all PPSM Year 3 students:
You may consider taking the Open Elective courses offered by the School of Computer Science this semester.
Please take note of the following:
- The Open Elective package consists of five courses. However, for students expected to graduate before the 2028/2029 Academic Session, only the following four courses are available for you to take:
- CFM113/3
- CFM203/3
- CFM211/3
- CFM312/3
Note: CFM214/3 will only be offered in the 2028/2029 Academic Session, so students graduating before then will not have the opportunity to take this course.
- The four Computer Science courses do not fulfil the full 20-unit Open Elective requirement. Therefore, the remaining eight (8) units should be completed using Mathematics elective courses.
- If you have already taken other Open Elective courses, these courses will not be counted towards the 20-unit Open Elective requirement under this Computer Science package. Therefore, taking the Computer Science package may result in you graduating with additional units beyond the required total.
Please check your Academic Plan carefully before deciding on your elective courses.
For more information about the Open Elective package, please refer to the respective School’s website or the Math@USM website.
